The Brass Band of Western Reserve and their conductor Dr Keith Wilkinson will be welcoming a very special guest this weekend to perform with them at the Medina Performing Arts Center, in Ohio, on Saturday, April 5th.
Distinguished
Gordon Ward grew up in Great Britain and graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He moved to the United States in 1981 and has been the distinguished principal cornet player of the New York Staff Band for more than 20 years.
Great honour
Keith told 4BR: "Gordon has travelled extensively as a guest clinician and conductor and, as a cornet soloist, has performed at prestigious venues such as London's Royal Albert Hall, the Sydney Opera House and Oslo Concert Hall.
He has also performed the world premieres of several solos which have been written especially for him so it is a great honour and pleasure to welcome Gordon to the band as our guest."
