You know you have made it big in the media world when The Guardian newspaper takes an interest in your story.

So congratulations to the wonderful lads and lasses of the Huddersfield Marathon Band, who were featured this week in ‘The Northerner Blog’ by journalist Helen Priddy.

Paint it Black

She was bowled over by the band’s attempt to reclaim the world marching band record at the London Marathon next month from their German rivals — especially as it would be done whilst the band plays one of her all time favourite pop classics – ‘Paint it Black’ by the Rolling Stones.

National press

4BR has already featured the band as they warmed up for the record attempt by completing the half marathon at Oulton Park last month, so it’s great to know the national press are taking an interest too.
