With their recruitment campaign aimed at players wishing to join its three UK based professional brass bands already proving to be highly successful, the Corps of Army Music (CAMUS) has informed 4BR that the re-organisation to implement its new exciting musical capabilities is almost complete.
King's Division
That will include the re-shaped King’s Division Band, based in the North West, which has just released its list of public events, the highlights of which will see performances at the forthcoming European Festival of Brass in Perth, the Great Northern Brass Arts Festival in Manchester and the famous Whit Friday march contests.
Exciting possibilities
Director of Music, Captain Justin Matthews, told 4BR that the success of the recruitment process will mean exciting musical possibilities for all three bands — although they are keen to emphasis their commitment to work in partnership with the brass band movement.
"Although the CAMUS Brass Bands will not compete at traditional major competitions, Whit Friday is an ideal opportunity for us to expose this new capability and its talents to the public.
As a non-registered band there are obviously restrictions, however if prize money were to be won it would be donated to our Service Charities."
