Morley announces judging team

The experienced duo of Alan Morrison and Alan Holdsworth will be the men to impress at the popular Morley March & Hymn Tune contest this year.

Marching cornets

The Morley & District Lions have announced that the experienced adjudication team of Alan Morrison and Alan Holdsworth will be the men in the box at their forthcoming event on Sunday 15th June.

Format

The format will see a traditional style road march performance followed by three verses of a hymn tune and a contest march in the band arena at the side of the local Town Hall.

Whilst there are no formal rules for the contest which starts at 1.00pm, it is expected that all bands enter into the spirit of the competition and field their regular band wherever possible.

£500 top prize

The event, which gains a great deal of local support, is open to all bands from Championship Section to Youth, with a very generous prize fund of £1600 — £500 of which will be claimed by the overall winner.
