After a roller coaster start to 2014, the Unite the Union Band has recently been enjoying some high profile concert and stage work.
Collaborations
Recent collaborations with pop star Jarvis Cocker has led them onto further work with the Red Ladder Theatre group and ChumbaWamba to come in the summer.
Meanwhile, last weekend they appeared alongside opera star Lesley Garrett at a sell-out concert at Sheffield City Hall, which was filmed for the BBC.
Looking forward
And despite falling back into the First Section for 2015 following the recent Yorkshire Area Championship, the band remains upbeat about its musical future.
"It seems remarkable that after such a meteoric rise over the last three years we get relegated, but that’s the strength of top Yorkshire banding."
Thankfully, we have a full band and some great high profile concerts and projects to look forward to, as was evident at the weekend with Lesley GarrettUnite the Union Band
High profile
They added: "Thankfully, we have a full band and some great high profile concerts and projects to look forward to, as was evident at the weekend with Lesley Garrett, which was filmed for a programme called ‘My Life My Music’ to be seen on the BBC in October."
