City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) 1 has welcomed three new players to the ranks ahead of their forthcoming appearance at the Welsh Regional contest in Llandudno.
Jenny Brooksby and Bethany Mayes join on cornet, with Alex Torsvik strengthening the bass section.
Multi talented
A spokesperson told 4BR: "Multi-talented Jenny hails from Penarth and brings a great deal of talent to the solo cornet bench and Bethany is a second-year student at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and is a welcome addition to the back row."
They added: "Following Chris Stanley’s relocation to Dublin, Alex joins on Bb bass. He’s a 17-year-old Whitchurch High School Student from Norway and has a phenomenally strong sound that belies his tender years!"
