Cornerstone Brass has added yet more experience to their playing ranks as they prepare for the forthcoming Yorkshire Area contest in Bradford.

Signing

The band welcomes the signing on solo cornet of the familiar figure of Derek Renshaw.

Derek is a former member of Grimethorpe Colliery, Rockingham Colliery Band and Yorkshire Imps, as well as a highly respected conductor, most recently of the City of Sheffield Band (now Unite The Union), who led to the First Sectional National Championship title just a couple of years ago.

It’s fantastic that musicians of Derek’s calibre want to be part of this. His reputation is known to many and we look forward to benefiting from his vast knowledge and experienceMD,Damian Wileman

MD Damian Wileman told 4BR: "We are thrilled to have Derek on board with us. We are going through an exciting time of change with the band with a number of new and innovative plans being put into place.
