Sheppard leaves Blackburn flock

After 12 years at the helm, Musical Director Nick Sheppard has left the role at Blackburn & Darwen Band.

Blackburn & Darwen Band has announced the departure of Nick Sheppard as Musical Director after 12 outstanding years of musical service with the North West band.

Sadly missed

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Nick will be sadly missed and we thank him for raising the standard of the band to new heights and to enjoy many contest successes."

Following an outstanding final concert at the local Thwaites Empire Theatre in Blackburn, the band members joined Nick for a few drinks and a farewell curry.

New MD

It was announced that the band will be directed by Huw Thomas at the forthcoming North West Area contest in Blackpool with the MD position to be advertised on 4BR.
