Stan and Christine Lippeatt enjoyed a terrific day of brass band music making on the weekend as they judged 135 different performances of various ages at the North Wales BBA Solo & Duet Contest.

On behalf of the organisers, Pedr Roberts told 4BR that the number of entries was a record for the competition.

Youngsters

Reflecting on a hard day’s work, Stan and Christine said that they were pleased to see so many young players with lots of promise for the future and congratulated the organisers for a great venue and a well run contest.

Llanrug Band won the trophy for the most successful band on the day.
