Bakewell adds new ingredients

Four new players are added to the musical ingredients at Bakewell Silver.

Bakewell Silver Band has welcomed a quartet of new players into its bandroom ahead of the forthcoming contesting season.

Julie Plant and Joy Newbould join the horn section, whilst Ken Fryer and Paul White return back to their home band on baritone and cornet respectively.

Band Chairman Ian Charlesworth told 4BR: "This is great news for the band. We obviously knew of the expertise and capabilities of both Paul and Ken and with Joy's contesting experience and enthusiasm it puts the band in a great position for the future.

Julie has done an outstanding job for us on solo horn and her appointment is yet another positive step for the band."
