There has been a good response of entries to the inaugural Rainford Slow Melody Contest which will take place at their bandroom and Rainford Village Hall on February 16th.
Sections
The contest will comprise of the following sections through the day, giving players of all ages an opportunity to showcase their talents:
• 12 & Under
• 16 & Under
• Open Age
• Duets
• Quartets
Entry fees: Slow Melody £3.00, Duet £5.00, Quartet £10.00
The adjudicator will be well the highly respected euphonium star David Thornton.
Excellent day
A spokesperson told 4BR: "We hope that lots of player young and old and of every standard can join us for what promises to be an excellent day all round and to promote local slow melody contests in the North West."
