Pleasley Colliery Welfare Band has announced a number of new signings ahead of their appearance at the forthcoming Butlins Mineworkers Championships in Skegness on the weekend.
Players
Zoe Simpson and Tony Kartawick join on the front row, whilst Danny Pizzy and Dave Randall fill the Bb bass spots and the second trombone seat is filled by the experienced David Pemblington.
The players were all welcomed into the band at the recent Annual Dinner and Awards Night, whilst the band has also enjoyed teaming up with the experienced Duncan Beckley who has been helping put some finishing touches to their Skegness preparations.

Beckley welcome
Band spokesman Nick Harris told 4BR: "It’s great that Duncan agreed to put the band through its paces on the test piece.
His experience and knowledge has been invaluable and his contest track record is second to none. At Pleasley we want to work with the best and Duncan is one of the best."
He added: "The band is in great shape and there is a real buzz around the place and we are all looking forward to Butlins."
