After four highly successful years in charge, David Nesbitt has decided to take a break from conducting Yorkshire Imperial Urquhart Travel Band.
Journey
He told 4BR: "The past four years have been an enjoyable journey — one which has seen the band grow from being homeless, 9 players and considering folding, into a strong band, firmly back in the Yorkshire top section and with its own band room.
It has been an honour and a pleasure to conduct one of the most recognisable names in banding and I wish them all of the very best for the future."

Right time
David has said that he feels it is the right time to leave the band and hopes that they will appoint someone with the energy to push them further.
His decision to leave will allow him to concentrate on his professional playing commitments that have increasingly caused a conflict of dates.
He also wished to spotlight the band’s Principal Cornet, Alan Fowler who he added, "...never once let me down on stage, in the bandroom or just at the other end of a phone."
David will direct Imps for a final time at the forthcoming Butlins Mineworkers Championship in Skegness.
