Morley set for more march and hymns

The popular Morley March & Hymn Tune Contest will be held once again this June.

4BR has been informed that the popular Morley March & Hymn Tune Contest will take place on the 15th June in Morley, West Yorkshire.

Contest spirit

The own choice contest is open to all bands from Championship to Youth, and whilst there are no formal rules it is expected that bands will enter into the spirit of the contest and field their own regular players wherever possible.

The format is a traditional road march along the local Queen Street, from a provisional start time of 1.00pm, followed by bands reassembling outside the Town Hall to complete their programme with three verses of a hymn tune and a contest march.

The total prize fund is £1600 with the overall champion taking home £5004BR
