One of the UK's newest brass bands has announced its intention to compete at the Area Championships.
Taking part
Oxford Cherwell Brass, which was only formed in the summer of 2013, is hoping to take part in the London & Southern Counties Regional contest in Stevenage in March under the direction of the respected conductor Terry Brotherhood.
Balanced mix
Band secretary and principal cornet Steve Clapton told 4BR: "Oxford Cherwell Brass has a balanced mix of experienced players and newcomers and we fully expect to be competitive and look forward to seeing the emergence of the band both regionally and nationally over the next few years."
He added: "We would also like to thank the Regional committee for their help and guidance in respect to our proposed participation."
