Radio 2 Young Brass Semi finalists announced

The eight talented players who will battle it out for a place in the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award Final have been announced.

The eight talented performers who have been selected for the semi final of the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award have been announced.

Record

Radio 2 has announced that each will record up to 10 minutes of music with Foden’s Band under conductor Michael Fowles on January 25th.

The unedited recordings will then be sent to the judges who will jointly select the four players to go through to the Final on March 28th.

Final broadcast

This will be broadcast live on Radio 2 as the highlight of a unique all brass concert featuring Grimethorpe Colliery Band, presented by Ken Bruce and Frank Renton.

January 11 • We are a friendly, inclusive and hard-working brass band, welcoming players of all ages and abilities. We are particularly keen to fill our Soprano Cornet, Flugelhorn, Tenor Horn, Euphonium and EEb Bass positions.


Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band
