Seasonal returns at VBS Poynton

There has been a welcome seasonal cornet return at Vernon Building Society Poynton.

Poynton

VBS Poynton Band has announced the re-signing of Peter Weaver back to the band.

Welcome return

Peter left the band a few years ago to take up a job in America and will return to his old position on the solo cornet bench.

Unfortunately, the band has said goodbye to cornet player Rachel Hall who has left the band to pursue other hobbies and ventures.

Hello and goodbye

Band spokesperson Dave Johnson told 4BR: "We would like to welcome Pete back. He’s a fantastic asset and we are thrilled that he has chosen to come back to our banding family!

Saying goodbye is always difficult especially when players have been as committed as Rachel. She has been a brilliant asset to our band and I wish her all the best."

Looking forward

He added: "2013 has been a fantastic year for the band given that out of four contests under MD Neil Samuel, we have finished in the prizes at all bar one.

We've also performed at some real high profile concerts, so watch this space, as I believe this year has been the start of even more good things to come."
