New recruits at Marsden

A trio of new recruits gives Marsden a contest boost ahead of their Perth challenge.

Marsden Silver Band has announced the signing of a trio of new players ahead of their Scottish Open challenge in Perth next weekend.

Trio of signings

Huddersfield University student Rob Foden comes in on tenor trombone, with Sarah Raisbeck joining on flugel from the Felling Band after relocating back to the North West. Sarah’s brother Neil plays horn in the band. Finally, Matt Corrigan joins from Wingates on solo euphonium.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We are delighted to welcome three excellent players to the band, especially as we are looking forward to the Scottish Open next weekend.

MD Glyn Williams has the band playing very well and we hope to deliver a strong challenge at the contest to round off what has been a very good year for the band."
