Lostock Hall enjoys 65th birthday bash

Current and formers players join together in celebration of the 65th birthday of Lostock Hall Memorial Band.

Lostock Hall

Lostock Hall Memorial Band recently celebrated their 65th anniversary with a wonderful function at their local Railway Hotel in Leyland, where around 70 current and former players, supporters and fans enjoyed an evening of entertainment and fun.

War Memorial

The band was formed in 1948 from £100 remaining from the recently erected War Memorial in the village, so it was fitting on this occasion that the event took place on the Armistice weekend.

Band Secretary, Martin Walker, gave a moving speech about the history of the band and specifically paid tribute to Ron Heyes for his dedication over the past 65 years.

We were delighted to see so many ex players support us on the evening, including some from our friends at Leyland Band, and we now look forward to 2018 and our 70th birthdayLostock Hall Memorial Band

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We were delighted to see so many ex players support us on the evening, including some from our friends at Leyland Band, and we now look forward to 2018 and our 70th birthday."
