Dr Robert Childs will direct Grimethorpe's entertainment challenge at Brass in Concert next weekend.

Grimethorpe

Grimethorpe Colliery Band has announced that they are team up once again with Dr Robert Childs for their appearance at the Brass in Concert Championship in Gateshead next weekend.

Delighted

Dr Childs told 4BR that following the success of the initial partnership with the band at the National Finals he was delighted to be able to team up with the band so soon again.

"I’m delighted to be working with my old band once more," he told 4BR.

"I had no hesitation in accepting the offer. Grimethorpe are a great contest band – especially with the entertainment format, so I’m looking forward to being able to lead them in what I’m sure will be a great performance at the contest."

Magnificent

Grimethorpe spokesperson Gareth Crane added: "The band is really excited to have Bob back in the bandroom once more. He was magnificent in preparing us for the National Finals.

There's no doubt in the band’s mind that the more Bob stands in front of us the more we are going to achieve the stability and success that Grimethorpe constantly strive towards."
