It has been a busy and productive summer for the Pemberton Old organisation, thanks to their sponsorship from DW Sports Fitness, but also in the recruitment of players.
New players
Charlotte Royle, Craig Houlton and Alexandra Maxwell have come in on the cornet section, with the horns boosted by the arrival of Amanda McGinley and Katherine Riding.
Alice Waterhouse joined Nick Birch on the euphonium bench with Andrew Crampton coming in on baritone.
Major contribution
A spokesperson told 4BR: "All of these players will make a major contribution to the band. Already they have impressed in terms of quality playing, but also in their personal character and professionalism."

Thanks
The band also thanked a number of players who have now retired from playing, with Dave Chapman taking up the conductor’s baton at Skelmersdale and Bb Bass player Keiran Higham who left for Grimethorpe in the summer.
Finally, after 16 years of outstanding service as principal cornet Joanne Johnson has moved to a new challenge as principal cornet of Milnrow Band.
