Shotts plan for future prosperity

Shotts St Patrick's Band make sure they secure their future with new youth set up.

Shotts

Shotts St Patrick’s Band, based in North Lanarkshire will launch their new youth/intermediate organisation, Shotts Development Band later this month.

Future generations

The new venture will hopefully ensure future generations of brass players in the Shotts and North Lanarkshire area as well as giving youngsters the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We were recently awarded a grant from the Coal Regeneration Trust that has allowed us to purchase 21 brand new instruments for this new organisation.

We will be hosting an open day in the senior band rehearsal hall on Saturday October 26th at 1.00pm to allow potential members to come along and find out more about the exciting opportunities the new band provides."

Thrilled

They added: "Shotts St Patrick’s Brass is thrilled to be finally launching the band and excited at the plans for the future of this new organisation."

Members of the senior Shotts Band will be in attendance to demonstrate the instruments and even perform a small concert.
