Youth injection at St Austell

Thee has been a real injection of talented youth players at St Austell in Cornwall.

St Austell

Following a busy summer period, filled with numerous concerts, St Austell Band welcome four new players to their ranks.

Rising stars

Rising star Tom Howard joins on solo horn from St Pinnock. Tom is studying for a BA in Music at Falmouth University including diplomas in performance for both horn and piano.

The cornet section has also been strengthened by the signing of Sarah Matthews from Camborne shortly before the recent Bugle Contest, with her first outing proving to be the successful winning of the coveted Royal Trophy.

Youth development

The band also welcomes Jacca Congdon and Carys Brush who have progressed from the St Austell Youth Band. Jacca and Carys will be playing in various concerts planned for the coming months and are products of the band's School of Brass.

We are delighted to welcome players with the experience of Tom and Sarah. Coupled with Carys and Jacca's progression from the youth band we continue to build on our recent contest successesMD Aaron Harvey

Build
