One of the best known names in the banding world, Phillip McCann, was recently awarded the coveted Iles Medal for his lifelong contribution to brass band music making.

He talks to Frank Renton about setting up the Sellers International Band, his days as Black Dyke's star principal cornet player and the continuing popularity of 'The World's Greatest Melodies' , a series of solo recordings which began when he was just 19.
