Following their successful conference and workshop seminars in Yorkshire the National Association of Brass Band Conductors (NABBC) has announced the date of their next event.
Gray lead
Led by NABBC President Russell Gray, the workshop day will be held in Upminster in Essex on Saturday 19th October, and will see delegates work extensively with the Championship Section former Grand Shield winners Aveley & Newham Band.
Russell will also be supported by vastly experienced MDs Andrew White, Melvin White and Martin Obermuller in a full day of intensive musical interaction, starting at 12.00am and closing at 4.00pm.
Focus
NABBAC Chairman Andrew White told 4BR: "This event will focus on increased support for delegates and greater interaction with a top section band.
The morning sessions will see Russell provide invaluable insight into leading sectional rehearsals, working with instrumentalists and offering practical support to both new and established musical directors on a familiar item of their choice."
Participate
Andrew added: "The afternoon sessions will allow MDs to rehearse Aveley & Newham as well as those who wish to participate as instrumentalists in this event. This programme has been very successful in itself in the past for all concerned.
The programme will also include exciting new items from composer Paul Lovatt-Cooper."
Success
Sponsored in partnership with Arts Council England, the NABBC workshops are also proving very popular and successful according to the Chairman.
"The experience of the conductor attending the workshops varies considerably, but outcome responses from all have been entirely positive," Andrew said.
"However, whether a beginner or established, this is a unique opportunity to gain personal support from some of our leading conductors and long term support from our most established National Conducting Brass Band Association."

The cost for the full day is just £25 for non-members and free for existing NABBC members, and £20 per person if 8 or more instrumentalists come from the same band.
