Yorkshire Area champion Carlton Main Frickley Colliery has announced the signing of cornet player Anthony Hall and up and coming baritone player Louise Crook.
Top flight return
Anthony makes a return to top flight playing after an eight year period away from the banding world in which he played the trumpet professionally in the south of England.
A former principal cornet of the Grimsby Band and a Fellow in Music at Bradford University, he will join the back row cornet bench in time for the band’s appearance at the British Open.
New baritone
With the departure of second baritone player Laura Channell, who after gaining a her degree from Huddersfield University is embarking on an exciting career in London, the band welcomes Louise Crook, who is currently studying music at Huddersfield University.

Missed
A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Laura leaves the band at a real high point and has been a large part in creating the successes in recent years. She has been a fantastic team player and her bubbly personality will be missed by us all.
