There is still just enough time to make sure you grab the chance to get along and enjoy a free open day with the National Youth Band of Great Britain.

Free day

Places are still available for the free day for young brass and percussion players aged 8 to18, on Tuesday, 6th August, at Giggleswick School, venue for the band’s week-long residential course.

The day will feature a masterclass, the chance to hear the 80-strong NYBBGB rehearse, an opportunity to listen to its solo competition and the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with Artistic Director, Bramwell Tovey.

We would encourage any young and talented brass or percussion player to come along. Dozens of previous attendees at our open days have gone on to join the bandNYBBGB

Encourage

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We would encourage any young and talented brass or percussion player to come along. Dozens of previous attendees at our open days have gone on to join the band."

Performances

The band itself will be performing on 9th August at the Dolphin Centre in Darlington, and on the 10th August, at The Royal Hall, Harrogate.

The free NYBBGB Open Day will be held between 10.00am and 4.00pm and will include lunch.
