Frank Renton considers what bands need to do to play an extended arrangement of a classical masterpiece and win this year's British Open Championship.

It was in 1873 that the elders of the Good Templars Lodge were horrified to see during their march through Westhoughton in Lancashire that the band that they had hired nip into a local pub for refreshment.
As a result they formed their own Wingates Temperance Band.
Frank Renton celebrates the bands 140th anniversary with a specially recorded session of music, conducted under Music Director Leigh Baker.
