Report & Results: 2013 Ireland Colliery Solo Contest

There was plenty of great music making on show at the recent Ireland Colliery Soo, Duet & Quartet Contest in Staveley.

The 2nd Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band & Raw Brewery Solo, Duet & Quartet contest was held recently in Staveley near Chesterfield.

Plenty to enjoy

Although numbers were slightly down this year, there were still 72 entries across the 11 sections for adjudicators Adam Rutter and David Thornton to enjoy.

Both commented that it was good to see so much young talent coming through and that the standard had been very encouraging.

Joy Newbould event organiser told 4BR: "It was great to see the support we had for this contest again from all the performers, supporters and from Raw Brewery."
