Elland Silver Youth, Training Band and Starter Band recently presented their annual summer concert in spectacular fashion.

Full house

Playing to a full house at the Brighouse Civic Hall, parents, friends and the Mayor of Halifax were treated to a brass extravaganza by 80 young musicians belonging to the organisation.

From the young performers, aged 7 to 21, from the beginner’s group to the 40 strong youth band, certainly enjoyed the opportunity to entertain their audience.

The Mayor later stated: "Thank you for inviting me. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the concert. It’s so wonderful to hear and see so many talented young people enjoying making music together."

In return for the hard work, long service, commitment and talent the band handed out an array of awards and certificates to a host of their high achieving performers.
