Plenty of dosh up for grabs at Wychavon

If you want to get your banding hands on some great prize money then make sure you get your Wychavon entry in — fast.

Wychavon

The popular Wychavon Festival Contest is set to take place in Evesham in Worcestershire on the weekend of the 14th/15th September, where there is a very generous prize pot of money up for grabs in each of the five sections.

Closing date

The entry date closes on 20th July, so there is just enough time to get your band in the programme.

As always there will be plenty of great music making on offer for supporters to enjoy, with the successful bands taking away with them a hefty wedge of prize money as well as the usual sparkling trophies.

One and half grand

The Championship Section winner will pocket £1,500 with the podium finishers gaining £750 and £250 respectively, whilst the First Section champion will get their hands on £1,000 with £500 and £250 to the other top three finishers.

The top band in the Second Section will win £750, with podium prizes of £350 and £200, with the top trio in the Third Section claiming, £600, £300 and £150. The Fourth Section champion will win £500 with the podium finishers gaining £250 and £150.

Prizes

There are also prizes for ‘Best Presentation’, the ‘Best Soloist’ and ‘Best Percussion’ in each section, and local bands can also win an extra £100 too.

The two day event is one of the most popular in banding, and as we have such a generous pot of prize money to give away we hope to be able to attract a full entry of bands in each of the sectionsorganisers

Generous

A Festival spokesperson told 4BR: "The two day event is one of the most popular in banding, and as we have such a generous pot of prize money to give away we hope to be able to attract a full entry of bands in each of the sections!"
