The Roberts Bakery Band has announced the appointment of Simon Stonehouse as their new Musical Director.

Renowned

After ten years as a renowned flugel player with Williams Fairey Band, Simon made his name as a conductor with the Mossley Band, guiding them into the Championship Section. He also conducted both Foden’s and Fairey to success at major championships before enjoying further success in his freelance role.

In demand

Retiring MD Colin Cranson, who both recommended Simon and aided the appointment, told 4BR: "I’m very pleased Simon, who is in demand to work with many of the country’s top bands, has agreed to take over as Musical Director.

I’m confident he is the ideal man to take the band forward."

I’m excited to be taking on this new challenge as MD of Roberts Bakery BandSimon Stonehouse

Plesaed

Simon added: "I’m excited to be taking on this new challenge as MD of Roberts Bakery Band. Rehearsals have been encouraging since I took the position in April, and we already have lots of projects lined up for the next twelve months and beyond."
