The Mortimer Way

There could only be one Harry Mortimer Way....

Mortimer Way

The most famous name in brass banding history has been given a permanent place of residence – just a stone’s throw away from the exact spot where he helped create one of the greatest brass bands ever heard at Foden’s Motor Works.

New development

As reported previously on 4BR, a new housing development in the village of Elworth will feature the names of many of the great band’s most famous players, conductors, supporters and even music — with the most famous of all already unveiled for the local postman to find with his bag of mail.

Impeccable

Harry Mortimer Way is situated where the old back entrance to the Assembly plant at the factory was built – and a spot where workers in years gone by would have been able to hear his impeccable playing when the band was rehearsing.
