If you want to take part in the popular Elland Silver Slow Melody, Duet & Quartet Contest then you need to get your entries in.

There is still time to get your entries in for the Elland Silver Band Slow Melody, Duet & Quartet Contest on Sunday 5th May. This year’s contest will be adjudicated by Mark Wilkinson, Principal Cornet of the Foden’ Band.

Sections

The contest includes sections for: 11 years & Under; 14 years & Under; 16 years & Under; Open Age; Veterans (over 40); Junior Duets (14 years & Under); Junior Quartets (14 years & Under); Open Duets and Open Quartets.

The contest starts at 10.00am and is held at the Bandroom on Dewsbury Road, Elland. All competitors are given a pre-draw. As usual there will be a selection of homemade cakes and pie and peas on offer.

Entry forms can be downloaded from the bands website www.ellandsilverband.co.uk/slowmelody or please send an email to ellandband@hotmail.co.uk. The closing date is Saturday 27th April.
