No doubting Thomas

Fishburn MD takes to the road to help raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Huw Thomas

Fishburn MD Huw Thomas has taken to the road over the last few days to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Walk

The Welshman started a sponsored walk with an aim of covering the 154 from his home in Leicestershire to Fishburn’s bandroom in 6 weeks – fitting it around his work at a rate of 5 miles a day.

Hard slog

Huw told 4BR: "It’s been a hard slog so far as I have to fit around work and band. I have a target of £500 and hope to raise it by the Spring Festival in Blackpool. I have already made a good start so hope to get many more miles under my belt sooner rather than later."

Huw decided to do raise money for Cancer Research UK, as Fishburn Band Manager Scott Meikle suffers from Castleman’s, which is characterised by tumours that can develop in the lymph nodes, and is a rare condition that comes under the Cancer Research UK umbrella.
