4BR has been informed that following a number of successful years with Garforth Brass, the founder of the band, Stephen Bailey, has moved on to pastures new.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We would like to thank Stephen for the hard work and time he has put into the band’s recent success and wish him all the best for the future."

The new Musical Director has been announced as Mark S Wildie.

Experienced

The spokesperson added: "Mark comes to the band as an experienced brass player and conductor. He was taught by the inspirational Les Hepplestone and has played with bands such as Wakefield Metropolitan and South Milford and conducted a number of brass bands across the Yorkshire region.

Under this new dynamic leadership the band has already planned a number of high profile concerts and contests for this year with more exciting events already planned for 2014."
