The organisers of the Brass in Concert Championship, which will be held at The Sage Gateshead on Sunday 17th November, have revealed the line-up of adjudicators that will implement the event’s pioneering scoring system.
System
The new system was successfully introduced last year to recognise the importance of the quality of bands’ ‘Programme Content’, which will account for 20% of the available points.
‘Quality of Performance’ still accounts for 60%, while entertainment and presentation now makes up 20% of the overall total.
High quality
Event spokesperson John Woods, told 4BR: "We are delighted to be able to reveal such a high quality panel of judges once more. Paul Cosh and Stephen Bulla are, of course, vastly experienced professional musicians, whose role will focus purely on the quality of the bands’ playing.
Jo Wheeler, who has a vast amount of experience in the entertainment and media industry, also makes an ideal choice as the entertainment and presentation judge, while Mike Kilroy’s lifetime of experience in the movement makes him the perfect appointment as the Programme Content judge."
Popular
Jo Wheeler was the popular compere at the Butlins Mineworkers Championship earlier this year and will be known to many as weather presenter on Sky News. Meanwhile, tuba star Les Neish returns for a second year as solo adjudicator.

The confirmed adjudication panel is as follows:
