The Board of Brass Bands England has issued a press release in response to the announcement by David W Ashworth and Kevin Holdgate on 4BR that they are seeking to take the first steps towards a vote of no confidence in BBE, with a meeting to be held in Blackpool on the weekend of the Spring Festival.

The state: “The Board of Brass Bands England notes the recent press article.

Each year the Board is democratically elected by its member bands/associations at the AGM, as per its Memorandum & Articles of Association. Brass Bands England's financial year ended on 31st March 2013 and therefore the date of the AGM will be announced shortly.

At present the Board of Brass Bands England is concentrating its efforts on the organisation of the National Youth Championships of Great Britain at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester on Sunday 14th April.

With 43 of our finest Youth Bands in attendance we can all look forward to a fantastic day of music making."
