The National Youth Band of Great Britain has been working hard all week in preparation for their twin concert performances under the baton of Artistic Director Bramwell Tovey in Weston Super-Mare and Bristol this weekend.
Demanding programme
Their demanding programme of repertoire this year has included works by Eric Ball, Philip Wilby, Peter Graham, Andy Scott and Alexander Arutiunian, as they have been joined by guest soloist Andrew McCandless, principal trumpet of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
Principals
The talented youngsters have enjoyed a wonderful week of work, with a number of talented performers claiming the prestigious principal seats of the famous band.
Principal Cornet and Leader this year has been Illiam Quane, with Jack Wilson (soprano), William Norman (flugel), Jonathan Bates (horn), Michael Cavanagh (baritone), Daniel Morgan and Matthew Fletcher (euphonium), Christopher Binns (trombone), Joshua Cirtina (bass trombone), Joshua Flynn (EEb tuba), Harry Cunningham (Bbb tuba) and Francesca Lombardelli leading their various sections.
