Dobcross Silver Band has announced the resignation of its Musical Director Kenny Pain.
Tireless
A spokesperson told 4BR: "Kenny has been with Dobcross Silver for almost two years and in that time he has been tireless in his efforts to develop and improve the band.
Kenny has recruited many new players and has always been particularly keen on nurturing young and less experienced players, resulting in many making their solo debuts under his leadership."
High profile
During this tenure, Kenny led the band to a creditable result at the North West Area Second Section Championships, a successful Whit Friday outing and fourth place at Morley March & Hymn contest – all in 2012, whilst there have also been a number of excellent high profile concert appearances.
Dobcross Silver Band would like to publicly thank Kenny for all his time and effort and wish him all the very best for the futureDobcross Silver Band
Very best wishes
The spokesperson added: "Kenny is an incredibly social, friendly MD and will be greatly missed. However what the band loses in an MD we gain in a supporter, especially given that his partner Steph Coward continues on as our principal cornet.
Dobcross Silver Band would like to publicly thank Kenny for all his time and effort and wish him all the very best for the future."
