Leyland put brains to the Oslo test

The Leyland Band is putting their brains as well as their musical talent to the test as they look forward to Oslo.

The Leyland Band is starting to put the finishing touches to their fund raising efforts as they prepare to represent England at the forthcoming European Brass Band Championships in Oslo in May.

Reputations

Flushed by their success at the recent North West Regional Championships in Blackpool, they are will to put their reputations on the line in a friendly quiz evening at Buckshaw between them and Chorley, whilst they will be showcasing their playing talents at a self promoted event at the University of Central Lancashire too.

Warm welcome

Iain McKnight told 4BR: "These are just two of the many fund raising events we have put on since gaining our qualification to the Championships. We offer a warm welcome to everyone who wishes to come along and hear us perform, or even test our general knowledge!"
