Last reminder for Dr Chris Davis workshop

There are just a few tickets remaining to grab a place on the exciting John Packer Brass Band Workshop led by Dr Chris Davis.

There are justa few tickets remaining for this years’ Brass Band Workshop led by Dr Chris Davis OBE on March 23rd at The Castle School in Taunton.

Great chance

Tickets for the event are £8.50 each and must be pre-booked. The day will feature challenging music, expert supervision and a great chance to meet other musicians.

After the highly successful Brass Band and Concert Band Workshops last year, John Packer Ltd is proud to welcome Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Dr Chris Davis OBE BA(Hons) MMus DMA LRAM to host the event,

Chris joined the Royal Marines Band Service in September 1975 and on completion of three years training at the Royal Marines School of Music embarked onboard Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia.

Busy career

After 34 years of service Chris retired from the Royal Marines in May 2009 and now pursues a busy career as a freelance conductor and adjudicator.

Limited spaces

Spaces for each instrument will be limited in order to achieve a balanced band so we would urge you not to delay in booking your ticket.

Musicians must be grade VI + standard.

Please bring a packed lunch, your instrument and a music stand.

Registration from 9.00am for a 10.00am start. The day will end at 5.00pm.

Tintwistle Band

March 18 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd euphonium and 2nd baritone player to help complete the team.. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.

March 15 • We are a friendly, welcoming 4th section band based in Tameside, Greater Manchester. Following our 4th place at the North West regionals, we are looking for a SOLO CORNET player (position negotiable). We rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
