As part of the 2013 Black Dyke Festival, principal tuba player Joe Cook and principal euphonium Gary Curtin will be leading a special ‘Low Brass Spotlight’ at Leeds Town Hall on May 19th.
Asking
The duo is now asking enthusiastic euphonium, baritone and tuba players to be part of the event which in recent years has grown in popularity.
Delegates will have an opportunity to play in ensembles alongside the lower brass members of Black Dyke as well as perform in a mixture of small ensemble, massed ensemble and solo playing with solo contributions from Joe and Gary.
Everyone welcome
In addition they will be able to hear quartets played by the Black Dyke euphonium and baritone section and the magnificent Black Dyke tuba section.
Gary told 4BR: "Everyone is welcome for what should be a great day of low brass music making."
More information
The fee for this day of music making is £5.
