There was a great turn out of young playing talent in Macclesfield recently.

Macclesfield Youth Brass Band held its fifth Slow Melody Contest recently, drawing its biggest entry in its short history.

Adjudicator Steve Critchlow had some tough decisions to make but gave all the entrants lots of encouragement and valuable advice.

January 8 • Wantage Band (championship section) has a vacancy for a cornet player, position negotiable, to complete the section. Rehearsals take place every Sunday 7:30pm and Wednesday 8pm in Wantage with highly experienced Musical Director Chris King.
