4BR Quiz: Weekly Quiz sponsored by Ev-entz

There's another great prize to be won with our quiz sponsored this week by Ev-entz — just by guessing, who will win the top section battle in Torquay

Once again there is a great prize sponsored by our friends at Ev-entz — as long as you can get your thinking caps on.

Eight CDs

There is another eclectic batch of 8 CDs on offer – with a bit of everything from Foden’s and Tredegar to Glen Van Looy, Tubalate, Brass Band Columbus, the Central Band of Florida, Brisbane Excelsior and The London Central Fellowship Band.

Something for everyone then.

Who will win?

With another four Regional contests taking place this weekend, we are asking you to pick who you think will win the top section at the West of England Regional Championship in Torquay.

It’s a bit trickier than you may imagine, because no band has successfully defended their title there since 1996.

So can Flowers become the first band to do it this year since the great Sun Life Band under Richard Evans, or will yet another new name be engraved upon the trophy?

A: Aldbourne
B: Bournemouth Concert Brass
C: Brunel Brass
D: Camborne Town
E: Chalford
F: Flowers
G: Lydbrook
H: Mount Charles
I: Sherborne Town
J: St Dennis
K: Woodfalls

It’s a bit trickier than you may imagine, because no band has successfully defended their top section title at Torquay since 19964BR

Clues:

None! Just take your pick of who you think may win!

Closing date:

All answers for this one must be in by 3.00pm on Sunday 10th March—before a note on ‘Harmony Music’ has been blown in anger!.

Last Winner:

We had a great response to last week’s quiz, with Alan Birch of the Shipston Band getting his hands on Gordon Goodwin’s ‘Big Phat Band—Play-Along Series’ that comes with an accompanying CD, as well as a copy of the David Childs ‘A Masterclass in Brass’ DVD, Foden’s new CD ‘Patron’s Choice VI’, Black Dyke’s new CD ‘Gold’ and Cory’s new release, ‘Cory Band in Concert’.

He was one of only 12 people who thought Carlton Main was going to win – but he was proved right!
