Tubb enjoying Big Apple life

Composer Ben Tubb is enjoying life in New York City — although he is missing the pressure of the Area Championships too.

Composer Benjamin Tubb has been enjoying life in the ‘Big Apple’ since moving over to the United States to work a couple of years ago.

Missing

So much so that he has told 4BR that he only now does he realise that he is actually missing the pressure of the Regional Championships – although he is following the action on 4BR.

"I’m feeling really bad that I'm missing out on the Areas this year, but I've been catching up on the news from 4BR," he said.

Break

Ben has also taken a bit of a break from writing for brass bands too, with new demands placed on his compositional skills from various vocal groups.

He added: "I've been approached to write a lot more vocal music here in the States, and have just finished my fourth musical."

New website

Thankfully, he has had time to re-launch his website, which now features the latest information on his works, premieres as well as full-length recordings, videos and photos.

Having graduated the RNCM in 2010, under the tutorage of Adam Gorb and Paul Patterson, Ben has gained a variety of experiences in recent years, especially since his move to New York City, where he is regularly approached to work on exciting and new musical theatre projects.
