Fresh from their recent victory at the NEMBBA Contest, Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band has announced a number of new signings.
New cornets
William McLauchlan comes in on solo cornet, after making his first appearance at the NEMBBA contest last weekend, whilst the experienced Dr Owen Wedgewood has filled the soprano cornet position.
MD Ian Knapton told 4BR: "Both players bring plenty of experience with them. I also know Owen through his work with Knottingley Silver where I will be stepping into the bass trombone seat to help him in return at the Yorkshire Area contest at Bradford."

Young and old
Other recent signings include Ashley Wright on Bb Bass and Andrew Baker and Jasmine Heiland on percussion. 9 year old Jasmine joins her grandmother, granddad, uncle and father in the band.
Coming back after a small break are Jeremy Newman on percussion and Phil Gee on trombone.
Good account
