The Royal Buckley Band has announced several new signings leading up to the Welsh Regional Contest in March.

Talented youngsters

The band has signed talented youngsters Dom Hurley on Eb Bass, John Fieldhouse on solo baritone, and Francis Jory on first horn, whilst the experienced Paul Stace comes in on Bb tuba.

Conductor Scott Lloyd told 4BR: "I’m pleased that we are in now a position to attract players with such talent."

Improving

He added: "The band is improving all of the time, with a good balance of youth and experience, and I’m confident we can continue to improve and hopefully seek to move on up into the First Section."

Attracts

Chairman Steve Pugh-Jones added: "Scott has worked really hard to enable us to play the right kind of testing and exciting music that attracts new talent to the band.

With the completion of these new signings and the set-up of our new youth band which has attached 20 players in just a short space of time, the future of Royal Buckley Town band is promising."
