New identity for Sellers Youth

The Sellers International Youth Band will now become the Hammonds Youth Band as organisations come together.

Sellers Youth

4BR has been informed that the Sellers International Youth Brass Band will join forces with Hammonds Saltaire Band from March 1st to become known as Hammonds Youth Band.

Close association

The decision follows the development of a close association between the two organisations for the past four years, sharing the same bandroom in Huddersfield and performing a number of joint concerts.

Great step

John Myles, Chairman of Hammonds told 4BR: "Strengthening our relationship and sharing our name with the youth band is a great step forward for both bands.

The Youth Band has some real talent and we are looking forward to working more closely with them.”

this is a wonderful opportunity for all of the players, and I look forward to taking a keen interest in their developmentDavid Armitgae

Delighted

David Armitage, Chairman of Sellers International who has sponsored the youth band for over 14 years added: "I’m delighted with this development and am certain that the young people in the youth band can only benefit from a closer liaison with Hammonds Saltaire Band which I see as a natural progression."

He added: "Having a relationship with such a successful Championship Section band and with guidance from their talented MD, Morgan Griffiths, this is a wonderful opportunity for all of the players, and I look forward to taking a keen interest in their development."
