The third UniBrass competition will take place this Saturday at the Great Hall of Lancaster University.
Open adjudication
With open adjudication and a pre-draw in operation, David Horsfield will oversee the musical element whilst David Childs will observe the entertainment on offer from the bands right from kick off at 9.30am.
Looking ahead
Looking ahead to the event, UniBrass Chairperson, Rhian Davies told 4BR: "After the success of the past couple of years, we're all looking forward to the whole weekend.
We have some great music lined up from Paul Lovatt-Cooper through to Eric Ball, and on Sunday six of the bands will be taking part in a series of masterclasses that will be run by Leigh Baker, Richard Evans, Owen Farr and Lucy Pankhurst."

She added: "We know the bands are looking forward to learning about conducting, solo playing and march playing amongst other things from some of the best in the business.
On behalf of UniBrass, I'd like to thank them for their contribution to what promises to be a fabulous weekend."
Trophies will be awarded to the top three bands whilst further prizes will be on offer for Best March, Best Solo/Feature, Most Entertaining Performance and Best Student Conductor.

The event which will be streamed on the internet throughout the day.
Tickets will be available on the door at the bargain price of £7.50 for a full day's entertainment or £5 for a half session. Concession and student rates will be available whilst it is free for under 12's.
4BR will be in Lancaster to soak up the atmosphere too.
